Seems so long
I’ve surveyed the night
Looking for
The one, to show me what is right
The magic
I can feel it
I can feel it in the air
Because something, or someone, knows that you are there
100 years or maybe more
Seems like yesterday
I’ve seen all this before
Dry the flowers from my grave
When there’s nothing left to save
No mourners song can take away the pain
Wipe the tear drops from your eyes
Because the undead never die
When the sun is low I’ll be back again
I’ve been gone
I’ve been searching the night
Looking for
The one to lead me to the light
The cold
I can feel it
I can feel it in my bones
Because something, or someone, knows I am alone
100 years or maybe more
Seems like yesterday
I’ve seen all this before
Dry the flowers from my grave
When there’s nothing left to save
No mourners song can take away the pain
Wipe the tear drops from your eyes
Because the undead never die
When the sun is low I’ll be back again
Dry the flowers from my grave
When there’s nothing left to save
No mourners song can take away the pain
Wipe the tear drops from your eyes
Because the undead never die
When the sun is low I’ll be back again
I like the subtle way in which the tracks connect to the album cover, making this resting maiden the center point — calm in the midst of storm. (Just my interpretation maybe but the cover gives extra depth to the music... a softer undertone). The image reminds me of ‘Annunciation’ by Dante G. Rossetti used in ‘Adrenaline’ music video.
‘Smoke and Mirrors’ puts me at peace with big disappointments — a bittersweet musical potion.

I've enjoyed The Wake since the 90s. The new album feels like a trip to right where they left off! Goth Rock at it's best! I can't wait to see where they go from here!! aklosowski22
“Strangers” is packed with wonderfully menacing electro-goth—late-night horror movie music for vampire dance parties. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2023
